CDL Driver (part-time, 28 hours/week)
The CDL Driver will drive large vehicles requiring a CDL to haul materials to and from campus as needed, operate equipment for projects, and load and unload the trucks. Operations will always be performed within acceptable safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring trucks and equipment are kept in a safe, clean, and working conditions. They will perform tasks assigned by the supervisor to complete projects in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
What you'll do in this position:
  • Drive large vehicles requiring a CDL, including hook trucks
  • Deliver/remove materials from job site
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Efficient tracking of loads and materials for reporting and payment requirements
  • Deliver and pick up roll-off bins to temporary construction sites
  • Drive and operate front-loading garbage truck
  • Daily time keeping
  • Efficient tracking of materials and loads

What qualifies you for this role:
Required
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Current Class B CDL
  • Ability to pass post-offer physical exam
  • Ability to work courteously with employees and patrons of the MTC, Temple, BYU, and contractors
  • Ability to respect and adhere to safety guidelines
  • Effective record keeping abilities
  • Professional attitude, dress, and adherence to the University's Honor Code

Preferred
  • One year of CDL driving experience
  • Effective supervising, mentoring, and training skills
