Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Cage Operations, the Line Cashier ensures the timely and accurate exchange of cash-in and cash-out transactions for Casino chips and vouchers. Carries out these cash handling transactions through many negotiable instruments, which require excellent math skills and attention to detail. Upholds strict adherence to established policies, procedures, internal controls and guidelines is required to maintain compliance to Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Title 31 and U.S. Patriot Act.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures accuracy of coin, chip, slot machine, credit card and cash handling transactions. Presents a well-groomed appearance and approachable demeanor, and assures exceptional customer service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly and professional matter at all times. Processes Slot Jackpot wins; exchanges slot tickets, currency, coin, monetary instruments, coupons and prize agreements. Prepares chip requests, verifies chip credits; issues and balances chip runner banks. Provides accurate payout transactions.
2. Balances bank inventory at the end of the shift and reports any discrepancies to management. Inspects and monitors money, examining for counterfeit currency, coins, fraudulent identification, credit cards and monetary instruments. Maintains internal controls through immediate reports concerning shortages, errors or discrepancies. Complies with all Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR) including; Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Title 31 and U.S. Patriot Act; adheres to all audit and legal regulations/laws and practices.
3. Completes all necessary related documentation in accordance with the established system of internal controls; processes necessary tax forms for required transactions.
4. Provides hands-on training to new team members on a rotational basis as needed.
5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the ecient operation of the department.

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must be able to accurately process high volume cash transactions.
  • Must be proficient in cash handling, data entry 10-key with decimals and alpha-numeric data entry.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS) (i.e. MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • High volume cash handling preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
