Job description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
A Cashier’s primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional customer service while receiving payment for goods and services.  A cashier is a critical customer touchpoint for the dealership and shares in customer centric functions related to maintaining strong customer relationships for repeat business. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1.    Computes or re-computes the customer's final bill using the dealership computer system.
2.    Receives and issues a receipt for cash, checks and credit card payments, following the procedure set out for accepting payment (e.g., checks verified, etc.)
3.    Records amount received in the computer and secures monies in the register/drawer.
4.    Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
5.    Reviews and records totals as shown on the receipt tape and verifies against cash on hand.
6.    Refers customers who have additional questions or complaints to the service advisor or other appropriate person.
7.    Ensures all service records are filed timely and accurately.
8.    Greets customers in a timely, friendly, and professional manner. 
9.    Ensure that work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.
10.    Answers phones and assists dealership customers with questions or concerns.
11.    Assist with incoming and outgoing service calls, to include confirming customer appointments.
12.    Other duties assigned.
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is regularly performed in an office environment and is regularly exposed to a computer monitor and office equipment. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods and work on cashier related equipment; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and use a computer, telephone and/or calculator.
