Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Principal Account Leader/Project Manager to support the growth and delivery of water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience, and solid waste services across West Florida, with a primary focus on Hillsborough County and support for Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
In this role, you will partner with Area Leaders, Project Managers, and Technical Experts to expand key client relationships, win strategic pursuits, and successfully deliver projects that advance client objectives. You will play a key role in driving market growth, developing account strategies, and providing leadership on municipal infrastructure programs throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.
Role accountabilities:
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with municipal clients and key decision-makers, positioning Arcadis as a trusted advisor and preferred partner.
  • Lead account growth efforts by identifying client needs, market opportunities, and strategic initiatives that expand Arcadis' presence across the region.
  • Drive business development activities, including pursuit planning, client engagement strategies, proposal development, interviews, and task order negotiations.
  • Manage and oversee the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as a senior technical and project leadership resource on water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience, and solid waste planning, design, and program management projects.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level staff while contributing to strong financial performance, growth, and overall business success.

Travel: Up to 30% travel may be required to support client meetings, industry events, project delivery, and business development activities.
Key Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience managing client relationships and delivering municipal infrastructure projects involving water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience, and/or solid waste systems. They will possess strong engineering, project management, and business development capabilities, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to develop trusted client relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams, prepare technical proposals, deliver presentations, and successfully execute complex projects is essential. Experience working with municipalities and local government agencies throughout Florida is highly desirable.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field of study
  • 10 years of experience in business development and/or project management in the water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience and solid waste sectors.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field of study
  • Management Professional or Environmental Sustainability Professional certification
  • 5 years of relevant sales and account management experience
