Employees answer calls, help customers with inquiries or complaints, and may also handle sales or technical support. These positions often offer flexible schedules, making them suitable for students, parents, or individuals seeking supplemental income. Part-time call center agents must have good communication skills, patience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a part time call center representative?

Job description

Discover Your Career at Emory University
Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.
Description
The Morningside Center for Innovative and Affordable Medicine is an interdisciplinary unit within the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University consisting of a core group of staff and affiliated faculty at Emory. The Center was created to promote research, education, and advocacy for effective and affordable medical treatments with an initial focus on repurposed drugs and cancer. The Program Manager will report to the Morningside Center Director. This is a part-time role, well suited to someone who enjoys variety and wants to help shape a growing Center.
The candidate manages daily operations of the Morningside Center. The role spans several areas, and you'll work closely with the Director and existing staff throughout:
  • Operations: manage the Center's day-to-day work and, as needed, work with the Director (or his/her designee), other staff, co-founders, and consultants to develop and keep projects on track, assist with planning and monitoring project budgets, join calls with subject-matter experts to help plan future projects and directions, and organize events and meetings.
  • Partnerships and funding: support contracts and collaborations within and beyond Emory with consultants and institutions, help develop internal grant RFPs, coordinate peer review and reporting (including an online tool), and prepare reports for funding agencies.
  • Research support: help faculty and staff navigate Emory's research process. Familiarity with clinical protocol development, personnel budgeting and IRB approval is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as welcome.
  • Strategy and outreach: set short and long-term goals working with Morningside personnel, serve as a liaison with other university departments, and represent the Center at meetings and events.
  • Visibility and events: maintain the Morningside website, help grow the Center's visibility through social media and patient advocacy, and assist with planning conferences related to Morningside's interests.

Other related responsibilities may come up as the Center grows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in a related field such as business administration, research, or information systems management.
  • Program or project management experience strongly preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
