Job description

We are looking for a hard-working and reliable Machine Operator who is committed to quality and safety in the workplace. You will follow blueprints and schematic work-ups to create precision implements and tools with large machinery. After each product is cut through the machine, you will check it for quality and that it meets specifications. Safety is of the utmost importance, so you must follow company and industry safety guidelines at all times. We prefer candidates who have at least two years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read follow blueprints and sketch designs (including computer-aided design (CAD) and/or computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files)
  • Set-up, calibrate, maintain, and repair machinery and machine tools as needed
  • Run test products to ensure quality and accuracy of production meets the set standard
  • Oversee machines, belts, any moving pieces during the production process and adjust speed or movements as needed
  • Finish pieces by grinding, smoothing or shaping as necessary
  • Keep a daily activity log of production notes (including totals, defects, etc.)
  • Follow state health and safety regulations by wearing required equipment and protection as needed

Machine Operator Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Training, certification, or degree from a technical college or vocational school preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a related manufacturing role
  • Experience using CAD (computer-aided design) and CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software programs
  • Able to read blueprints, sketches and/or computer-aided designs
  • Must have some grinding and deburring experience
