Job description

Position Summary Safely operate a paratransit vehicle using an assigned passenger schedule to determine route; pick up, transport, and drop off persons whose disabilities prevent them from using fixed-route bus service; work odd shifts, weekends, and special events. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing. Essential and Supplemental Functions High School diploma or GED or successful completion of one (1) WorkKeys Skills Assessments (listed below). Experience in driving an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accessible vehicle is preferred.

Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. Must pass physical exam and required drug testing and successfully complete Sun Van Chauffeur training. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Principles and practices of customer service Principles and procedures of record keeping Good public relations and people skills Good map reading skills City streets and roads Standard safety practice and potential hazards related to the operation of assigned vehicles Working Conditions Drive in adverse weather conditions Maintain proper certifications Complete required reports Demonstrate interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy Communicate clearly and concisely Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
