Job description

We're looking for a Part-time Retail Store Cashier who will deliver friendly, efficient customer service while supporting daily store operations. This role is responsible for operating the register accurately, maintaining a clean and well-stocked store, and contributing to a safe, profitable retail environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observes shift operation hours at all times, as assigned by the Store Manager
  • Performs specific task assigned by Store Manager
  • Assist the Store Manager in seeing that the store maintains a store-inspection grade of at least 90% on the store-inspection report
  • Gives all customers prompt and courteous service
  • Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with Store Manager
  • Attend store meetings
  • Stays familiar with company price book, operations manual, and bulletins
  • Ensures Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operation discrepancies.
  • Operates shift within company guidelines to achieve sales and profit
  • Operate the register and related business machines
  • Accurate handling of cash and reporting
  • Check in vendors and gas deliveries
  • Stock warehouse orders

Bookkeeping:
  • Prepare a shift-change report at the completion of shift in accordance with company guidelines
  • Notifies Store Manager of any discrepancies in the operation results on the shift report, cash over, or shift conditions in excess or $5.00 within 24 hours
  • Assures proper sale and accounting for lottery tickets during shift, as described in the operations manual
  • Rings all sales as per training
  • Accurately posts markups and markdowns, store use of merchandise, and bad-merchandise write-off's, within the established guidelines
  • Counts the cigarette inventory on every shift, including counting and calculating.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 months of cash handling experience strongly preferred
  • You must be able to work weekends.
