Job description

Requirements:

Mix of Weekday availability through September and October is required. Be polite, responsible, friendly, hard-working, and able to lift 50 pounds. Comfort working outdoors and around water. Some experience with watersports is desirable but not required. Multi lingual skills are desirable but not required. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Paddle Boston offers a relaxed outdoor work environment with competitive pay and benefits, plus the potential for year-round employment opportunities in concert with Weston Ski Track and Community Skating @Kendall Square.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping customers on the dock with canoes, kayaks, and gear
  • Answering questions about how to paddle, the river, and any other concerns
  • Loading and unloading of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards off storage racks and boat trailers and showing clients basic paddling technique.
  • Being aware of safety hazards on on the dock and on the water and emergency response protocols.
  • Some positions will include other responsibilities like minor repairs and maintenance of boats, cleaning and desk work such as using a cash register.

Pay: $15-16/hr + tips. Full and Part-time Fall/Winter positions are available as well as year round work. Benefits include health insurance, paid vacation time, retirement and disability plans, and employee and industry discounts.
