Additional Information About the Role

Are you a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Student looking to start your pharmacy career?  In this part-time position you will be working in both sterile and non-sterile spaces preparing medications, delivering medications, and refilling Pyxis machines. Grow you career with our experience team at St. Louis Children's Hospital! 

  • Part-time 14 hours per week
  • One weeknight evening per week 4PM -10PM
  • Every other weekend (8 hour shifts)
  • 2 Holidays per year

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, assists in dispensing and transporting medications. This entry level position learns to conduct non-sterile and/or sterile compounding and is responsible for maintaining the required documentation & records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
  • Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
