JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach day and/or evening classes for the Department of Biology & Biotechnology. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.
Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department. Your application will remain in the pool until the posting closes. If you wish to be considered for positions beyond that date, then you must reapply.

JOB DESCRIPTION

There is potential need for instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels within the Department of Biology and Biotechnology. Teaching assignments will be aligned with departmental needs as well as the successful candidate's expertise, interests, and availability. The department values innovative, student-centered approaches to teaching that engage students through active learning, project-based experiences, and other evidence-based pedagogical practices.

The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in a biological, biotechnological, or closely related discipline and possess significant professional, research, or applied experience in their area of expertise. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students and have a record of successful instruction at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. We welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds whose expertise can contribute to the department's educational mission and enrich the learning experiences of our students.

Compensation: $6,500 per course
