Job Description

The Product Owner, Data is responsible for building and evolving our enterprise cloud-hosted data warehouse to power analytics, business intelligence, activation and AI. This role blends product ownership with hands on data engineering, ensuring our data platform is scalable, trusted, and aligned with business priorities.

Responsabilities:

Product Ownership

  • Lead the roadmap and for the enterprise data platform, with Snowflake as the core technology
  • Manage the data platform backlog, balancing strategic initiatives with operational needs
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Partner with business leaders to identify high‑value data opportunities that support Analytics, BI, and AI use cases
  • Define and track KPIs for platform adoption, data quality, performance, and business impact

Data Engineering & Platform Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations using Snowflake, SQL, and modern ELT/ETL tools
  • Develop and optimize Snowflake objects (warehouses, schemas, tables, views, tasks, streams)
  • Implement data quality, observability, and monitoring frameworks
  • Collaborate with BI developers, data scientists, and analysts to ensure data models support reporting and machine learning needs
  • Integrate data from internal systems, third‑party sources, and cloud platforms
  • Ensure platform performance, cost optimization, and security alignment with enterprise standards.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or advanced analytics.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar role (or demonstrated strong product mindset).
  • Experience in retail, e‑commerce, or multi‑banner environments is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent command of SQL and strong expertise with Snowflake (data modeling, performance optimization, pipeline development).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with ELT/ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Informatica, Git/GitHub), orchestration and monitoring tools (e.g., Airflow), and data visualization platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau) is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio, Jira and Confluence preferred  
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and risk management.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions delivered iteratively and with added value.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language.
  • Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Structured, results-oriented, and value-driven approach.
