Description
The J is hiring enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Baseball Coaches for our advanced teams.
Our assistant coaches will provide instruction and impart their knowledge of the game to young players ages 8-12. The J's Baseball instructional program emphasizes skill development, self-discipline, and safety and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Experience as a coach/player is required.
Schedule
We are hiring reliable part-time staff to assist with practice/training sessions on weeknights and to help coach games/tournaments on weekends, with a chance of weeknight games.
Benefits
  • Pay $26-$30 per 90 minute session

Essential Functions
  • Lead and assist coach with baseball drills at practices and assistant coach in games for ages 8-12
  • Help set up and tear down equipment
  • Supervise children ages 8 to 12 years old
  • Provides positive communication and reinforces the coaches direction

Requirements
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Experience as a coach/player is preferred
  • Knowledge of baseball and its rules
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors
  • Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination, talking and hearing to demonstrate and execute skills
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. to move equipment as needed
