Mountain West Bank is seeking a part-time Bank Teller for our Meridian location and Eagle locations.ย  This position will rove between Meridian and Eagle as dictated by the Area Manager.

As a Teller, you will support Mountain West Bankโ€™s mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This role offers comprehensive training, competitive benefits and growth opportunities, as well as the opportunity to make a difference with every customer interaction.ย ย This position is designed for individuals who embody a customer-first mindset with genuine enthusiasm. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate clear communication, provide top-notch customer service skills and have impeccable manners. This position will trained then placed in one of our Coeur d' Alene, Post Falls or Hayden branches.ย  ย Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.ย ย This position reports to the Customer Service Manager. ย Career growth includes roles such as a Personal Banker, Customer Service Manager, Branch Manager and many more!ย 

This is a part-time, hourly position.ย  Candidates must be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 am to 6:15 pm and Saturday's from 9;00 - 1:00, for a total of 25 hours a week. Rate of pay depends on experience.ย ย 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.
  • Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.
  • Process savings withdrawals. Cash checks: verify endorsement, receive proper identification, and ensure validity.
  • Identify counterfeit currency.
  • Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
  • Count and roll loose coins.
  • Issue personal money orders and cashierโ€™s checks, accept orders and payment for U.S. Savings Bonds and sell American Express Travelers Checks (single & multiple signer).
  • Accept loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receipts.
  • Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
  • Ensure teller station is properly supplied.
  • Follow procedures for removing accounts for dormancy.
  • Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks.
  • Process cash advances, redeem U.S. Savings Bonds.
  • Maintain appropriate currency logs.
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other transactions as needed in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You

POSITION REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of prior customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technology acuity & computer systems knowledge.
  • Ability to efficiently use multiple computer programs and systems simultaneously.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Jack Henry experience
  • 6 months of prior cash handling experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:ย Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

ย Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:ย Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

ย Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
