Azure Data Engineer
The Opportunity:
Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there is more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it is gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions from fraud detection to cancer research, to national intelligence.
As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:
  • Experience building scalable ETL or ELT pipelines for reporting and analytics using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Databricks
  • Experience with direct development using Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure Key Vault, ADLS Gen2, or Azure Databricks
  • Experience building and maintaining resilient ingestion pipelines from multiple sources such as REST APIs, Databases, event streams, or SaaS platforms, including Genesys and SalesForce
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and contribute to data engineering standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Python, SQ, including T-SQL and Spark SQL, and PySpark
  • Experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting
  • Experience with the Microsoft Azure Government cloud, including Microsoft Azure
  • Experience writing data quality checks for large data sets using custom scripts in Azure Synapse or Azure Databricks
  • Experience with pipeline monitoring, observability, real-time data, and streaming applications
  • Experience with Apache Spark performance tuning and query optimization
  • Experience with Oracle or Oracle Golden Gate
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 CRM data
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Azure DE or Databricks Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
