Auto Detailer (Part-time)
Monday - Friday
$15.50 an hour
State Technical College of Missouri is accepting applications for part-time Auto Detailer position for the Facilities department. This position is responsible is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and simple maintenance of the College vehicles.
Required Qualifications:
  • This position requires a high school diploma.
  • This position requires work experience in the following areas:
  • Skills in auto detailing work and six months or one-year experience in auto detail work or comparable experience may be accepted. Post-secondary course work is considered a valuable asset.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to use common sense techniques.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information for accuracy and usefulness in solving problems.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers.
  • Basic written skills to accurately complete reports and other paper work
  • Valid Driver's License

Job Responsibilities:
  • Cleans and refurbishes automobiles
  • Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down door jambs
  • Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris
  • Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices
  • Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations
  • Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection
  • Applies dressing on tires and tire wells
  • Keeps work area neat and clean
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management
  • The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, talk or hear, and taste or smell
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts
  • The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Assist with snow removal as needed
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned
