Description
The Community Center is hiring a Weekend Event & Facility Supervisor starting this Summer! This key position supports evening events like weddings, parties, and community gatherings by ensuring the building stays clean, secure, and ready for guests.
As the on-site staff presence during weekend rentals, you'll help create a safe, smooth, and welcoming environment. You're not part of the party-but thanks to you, it can't happen without a hitch!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the building during evening events
  • Address renter questions or facility-related needs
  • Perform light cleaning during and after events
  • Ensure the space is operating safely and efficiently

Typical Schedule: Friday and Saturday evenings, generally 6:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m., with occasional Sundays as needed based on event bookings. Flexible scheduling: Prefer applicants who are available to assist with most weekends, however, you are not required to work every weekend. Let us know your availability when you apply!

Compensation: $19.18 to $21.05 per hour, based on experience. Receive an additional $2 per hour when working after 9 p.m.

Job Summary: The Building Security and Event Supervisor assists users and guests of the Community Center during evening and/or weekend events such as weddings, parties, and more with any building needs or issues. This position is responsible for supervising the building and assisting other staff, ensuring building security, managing events and emergency procedures, assisting with general maintenance and cleaning, preparing room setups including A/V equipment, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Community Center. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including late hours until 2 a.m., is required.
Examples of Duties
  • Supervise and assist customers during your shift, and support staff members with building needs.
  • Complete room setup and takedown according to standards or diagrams provided by department staff.
  • Assist facility customers with the setup and use of A/V equipment.
  • Promote recreation department programs and services, and support activities and events.
  • Ensure the safety of the building, its users, and the staff by enforcing City and Department policies, monitoring potential safety/liability issues, and assisting guests as needed.
  • Perform daily janitorial duties, including emptying trash, cleaning offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, assembly rooms, general spaces, and maintaining floors and restrooms. Complete general janitorial tasks as assigned on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Act as a liaison to program staff to ensure a clean environment for guests.
  • Secure the building by following proper opening and closing procedures as required by the shift.
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of equipment, such as easels, chalkboards, flipcharts, chairs, and A/V equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Post signs and daily schedules as required.
  • Supervise and/or assist with special projects as requested by the Director.
  • Attend all training sessions and staff meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
  • Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certified preferred.
