The Meadows Assisted Living of Brewton is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Cook / Resident Care Aide. This is a flexible position for someone who is willing and able to assist with both food service and resident care duties as needed.


We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and flexible team member who enjoys working with seniors and is committed to providing excellent service and care to our residents.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to assist in multiple areas of the facility
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Must speak and understand English
  • Previous cooking, food service, caregiving, or assisted living experience is preferred
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Must be willing and able to perform both resident care and dietary/cooking responsibilities as assigned


Essential Job Functions


Resident Care Duties

  • Provide non-professional direct resident care under the supervision of nursing personnel
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living
  • Assist residents to and from meals and activities
  • Provide assistance during dining service
  • Observe residents and communicate changes or concerns to appropriate nursing staff
  • Promote resident comfort, safety, dignity, and independence

Cook / Dietary Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards
  • Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus
  • Follow facility policies and procedures regarding food preparation and service
  • Ensure food is properly prepared, handled, and stored
  • Properly store leftovers and maintain a clean and sanitary food service environment
  • Assist with other dietary duties as needed
