Part Time Assistant information

What is a part time assistant?

Part time assistants are employees who provide support to an organization or individual for fewer hours than a standard full-time schedule, typically working less than 35-40 hours per week. Their duties vary depending on the employer and can include administrative tasks, scheduling, data entry, and other support functions. Part time assistants are valued for their flexibility and ability to help teams manage workloads without the commitment of a full-time hire.

What are part-time assistant jobs?

As a part-time assistant, you may serve as customers’ first point of contact by performing receptionist and administrative duties in an office. In other roles, you may provide clerical support for managers and executives, fulfilling duties that range from taking notes during calls and meetings to arranging travel itineraries. You organize paperwork, answer phones and emails, and sort and distribute correspondence. You also assist management with staffing, scheduling, and maintaining operational records like employment files. In some roles, your responsibilities also include financial activities, such as performing bank deposit reconciliation and processing vendor payments. In general, you work to create an orderly and efficient work environment and support busy leaders in achieving their business goals and priorities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Assistant, you generally need strong organizational abilities, time management skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with office software like Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, and sometimes scheduling tools is commonly required. Excellent communication, reliability, and a proactive attitude help individuals excel in supporting teams and managing multiple tasks. These competencies ensure smooth daily operations and enable efficient support in dynamic work environments.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time assistants, and how can they be managed effectively?

Part-time assistants often juggle multiple tasks within limited working hours, which can make prioritizing responsibilities a challenge. Communication is key—regular check-ins with supervisors and team members help ensure clarity on urgent tasks and expectations. Additionally, adapting quickly to different assignments and maintaining organizational skills are crucial for managing workload effectively. By staying proactive and open to feedback, part-time assistants can overcome these challenges and contribute positively to their teams.

Job description

Benefits:
  • Bonus based on performance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Training & development

Are you a PTA who still loves outpatient care — and wants a schedule that fits your life?
At ProMotion Rehab and Sports Medicine, we believe great clinicians shouldn't have to choose between being present at home and present for their patients. That's why we've built a part-time PTA role designed around real life — not the other way around. Connecting purpose driven people to opportunities in Physical Therapy and Fitness is our niche, and it applies whether you are here two days a week or five.
Flexible Scheduling Designed for YouWe know many great PTAs balance important responsibilities outside the clinic. Our flexible structure is built for real life — whether you're a caregiver, a seasoned clinician scaling back, or looking to blend outpatient with other pursuits.
  • Consistent weekly schedule
  • Minimum commitment: 2 days / 8 hours per week
  • Maximum hours: Up to 29 hours per week
This role is ideal for:
  • Caregivers managing family or household responsibilities
  • Experienced PTAs wanting to stay clinically active with reduced hours
  • Clinicians transitioning between career phases or settings
  • PTAs seeking work-life balance without leaving patient care
What You'll DoPatient Care & Advocacy
  • Deliver and progress therapeutic interventions per the PT's plan of care
  • Build strong patient relationships to promote attendance and engagement
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and injury prevention
  • Monitor progress and communicate updates to the supervising PT
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete accurate, timely, and defensible EMR documentation
  • Ensure notes support ethical and optimal billing within PTA scope
  • Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the supervising PT
Team & Culture
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical team members for smooth clinic flow
  • Engage in mentorship and team support to set everyone up for success
  • Participate in community events that connect ProMotion to the communities we serve
  • Explore niche development in collaboration with supervising PTs and in alignment with company direction
  • Grow into a full-time role if life circumstances change and the opportunity aligns
What Makes You Successful Here
  • You believe in the transformative power of physical therapy
  • You deliver exceptional patient experiences that drive loyalty and advocacy
  • You communicate clearly, confidently, and compassionately
  • You are organized and detail-oriented, even in a busy clinic
  • You balance fun, creativity, and empathy with strong clinical reasoning
  • You are motivated to grow clinically and professionally
Requirements
  • Licensed PTA in South Carolina or compact state (or upcoming graduate)
  • Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills
  • Ability to remain active — standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the day
Performance ExpectationsWe set clear goals and support you in reaching them. Once onboarded, you'll work toward:
  • Quality care defined as Net Promoter Score (NPS) 90 or above
  • Accessible care defined as 1.333 visits per hour or above (typically 5–6 patients in a 4-hour day)
  • Accurate, timely, and defensible EMR documentation
Why ProMotion Rehab and Sports Medicine?Founded in 2015, ProMotion's mission is to inspire and promote wellness through rehabilitative, preventative and performance services. We are guided by the values of:
  • Fun — a positive, engaging environment for patients and team alike
  • Excellence — exceptional care and continuous professional growth
  • Community — meaningful relationships that make a lasting impact
  • Education — lifelong learning that empowers our team and our patients
What you'll find here:
  • New grads welcome
  • Mentorship and dedicated support
  • Energetic, community-driven culture
  • A team committed to helping patients move better, live better, and play better
If you're looking for a place where patients matter, culture matters, and you matter — we invite you to apply today!
