The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education.
Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a part-time Lecturer to begin August 2026.  We seek outstanding scholar-teachers dedicated to excellence in the chemical and biochemical sciences.  The Department, an American Chemical Society (ACS)-approved program, has a strong and proven reputation for educating and training women of African-descent to excel in STEM fields. The successful applicant will have a doctorate in chemistry or a related area and prepared to teach introductory laboratories and/or lectures at the undergraduate level in Organic Chemistry. Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with women and underrepresented minority students through teaching, mentoring, and research are especially encouraged to apply.

Ph.D. in Chemistry or related area preferred.
