Job description

Overview

RENO, NV (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - A warm, active family in Reno's kid-friendly Edgewater neighborhood is seeking a nurturing and attentive PART-TIME NANNY to join their home starting July or August. With a 10-week-old and a bright, spirited 2-year-old, this family is looking for someone who brings calm confidence, genuine warmth, and a true love of infant care to the role.

Mom works fully remote from home, and Dad works in real estate with a flexible daytime presence, so the right candidate will be comfortable working alongside parents in the home while maintaining a professional, focused approach to care. The family has a housekeeper who comes monthly, so this is not a household management role. The priority is attentive, engaged childcare from start to finish.

The schedule is 3 days per week, approximately 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with some flexibility on exact timing to accommodate the right fit. Two of those days will be dedicated primarily to the infant, with the third day covering both children. The 2-year-old attends a home daycare program and is, by all accounts, a total delight. At 10 weeks old, the baby is easygoing and sweet, and the family is breastfeeding with some supplementation, so experience with bottle feeding and infant feeding routines is a plus.

The ideal candidate will bring solid infant care experience, a calm and nurturing presence, and the ability to stay meaningfully engaged during slower moments of the day. Light tidying and children's laundry are appreciated, and an interest in meal prep is a bonus but not required. The family also has a lovable pet, so comfort with large animals(dog) is a must. There is a neighborhood pool, and the family would love a nanny who is comfortable taking the children swimming when the time is right. Occasional evenings for date nights would also be welcome.

The family is looking for someone reliable, flexible, and genuinely invested in their children's day-to-day happiness and development.

This position offers $30+/hour, 2-5 PTO days, and 2-5 sick days. The family is located in a centrally situated, family-friendly neighborhood with easy access to parks and community amenities. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow alongside a young, lovely family right from the start.

  • BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
  • UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)

  • A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
  • 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
  • EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES
  • U.S. DRIVER'S LICENSE (THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO NYC RESIDENTS)
  • MUST BE A COMPETENT SWIMMER (IF AND WHEN REQUIRED)
