Part-Time Kennel Technician / Reception Assistant

Bocage Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Part-Time Kennel Technician who is also comfortable assisting at the front desk. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with both animals and people in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Schedule:Applicants must be available to work:

  • Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Some weekends: Weekend boarding shifts are split, requiring you to come in once in the morning to care for boarding pets and return in the evening for their second round of care.

  • Patience & Compassion: Remaining professional while still making Doctors, teammates, clients, and patients feel as comfortable as possible regardless of the situation or challenges presented.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Carefully coordinating actions with practice team members. Quickly incorporating feedback to ensure positive results.  Sharing ideas and being open to other's ideas.  Continually looking for ways to help others.
  • Communicating: Conveying boarding outcomes to clients and teammates to ensure successful client care.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized pets, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring their well-being.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, treatment areas, and hospital facilities.
  • Assist the veterinary team as needed.
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and schedule appointments.
  • Greet clients and assist with check-in and check-out.
  • Provide excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
  • Help maintain an organized and welcoming reception area.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Ability to work on weekends as required
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred
  • Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
