Part-time 18 hours per week position for skilled Assistant or Technician. Sign-on bonus for CVTs (prorated for part-time hours)!

The hourly pay rate will be determined based on skill level. Experienced assistant and technician level pay rates range from $24.00 - $34.00 per hour. Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications.

THE POSITION:

Join us for an exciting opportunity to become a part of our growing shelter and community veterinary team and help achieve positive impact for animals in Worcester, MA and beyond.

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join the MSPCA-Angell Clinic at Worcester Animal Rescue League (WARL). This high-quality, high-volume spay-neuter program provides valuable veterinary support to WARL shelter animals and low-cost surgical services to owned pets in the Worcester area.

The Assistant/Technician will work inside WARL in close collaboration with MSPCA-Angell and WARL team members, assuring and maintaining an effective spay-neuter program. This program currently operates two days per week, but there is flexibility to offer more or less work days per week to make the role the perfect fit for the right candidate!

Primary responsibilities include assisting staff veterinarian with procedures and treatments required to ensure and maintain the health of animals in our care. This position assists our veterinary team and shelter staff with the examination, vaccination and medical testing of incoming animals. This position also includes surgical monitoring for spays/neuters, dentals, and other surgical procedures for animals awaiting adoption and for animals seen through our community clinic for low income clients.
