Best Friends Fur-Ever provides professional dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services in a safe, structured, and enriching environment focused on canine wellness and positive care. We are passionate about creating a fun, clean, and secure environment for every dog in our care while delivering outstanding service to pet parents.
Position Overview
We are seeking dependable, energetic, and compassionate Dog Handlers to join our Resort Operations team. In this hands-on role, you will supervise dog playgroups, ensure safe social interactions, provide enrichment activities, monitor canine health and behavior, and maintain a clean and organized facility.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, loves dogs of all sizes and personalities, and is committed to providing exceptional animal care.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise structured dog playgroups and monitor behavior to ensure safe interactions.
  • Use positive reinforcement and proper handling techniques to support healthy play and socialization.
  • Observe dogs for signs of stress, illness, injury, or fatigue and report concerns promptly.
  • Provide individualized care including feeding, enrichment, medication administration, and kennel support.
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, equipment, and common spaces.
  • Maintain accurate care, feeding, and behavior records.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and pet parents.
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and animal care procedures.
  • Assist with additional operational duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain physically active throughout shifts.
  • Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Comfortable using computers and mobile software systems.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Preferred
  • Experience in dog daycare, boarding, grooming, training, veterinary, rescue, or related animal care environments.
  • Knowledge of canine behavior and enrichment techniques.
  • Pet First Aid and/or CPR certification.

Schedule
Typical shifts may include:
  • 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Flexible scheduling available for both full-time and part-time team members.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced and physically active environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, cleaning products, and wet environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided as needed.
