Job description

Currently looking for part-time or full-time small animal veterinarian.

Do you want to be near a city but work in a beautiful rural area with farms? Are you interested in seeing a wide variety of species? Would you enjoy working with a family-oriented and supportive staff? Then Feeder Creek Veterinary Services could be the place for you!

Feeder Creek Veterinary Services is a FIVE doctor, privately owned, mixed animal practice. We are located in the quaint town of Millersport, Ohio (just 30 minutes from Downtown Columbus). For over 40 years and under the same ownership, we have cared for local pets and livestock in the surrounding areas. We have deep roots in the community and often participate in local fairs, scholarships and community events. We are highly supportive of educating anyone interested in the veterinary field whether it's veterinary students, technicians or 4-H students.

We are a practice that enjoys fun at work and outside of work. Team support and encouragement is a high priority here. We believe our staff is just as important as our clients and patients. We value input from the staff and hold weekly doctor meetings and monthly staff meetings along with various lunch and learns. Our doctors are able to provide strong mentorships to new doctors in the field and are extremely invested in the entire team always learning and growing.

Whether you are a new graduate or a seasoned veterinarian, you will feel right at home with our team of doctors and technicians. Our veterinarians practice both small animal and large animal medicine. They spend about 60% of their work week in-clinic and 40% traveling to surrounding farms. Each veterinarian has scheduled surgery time and on-call emergency is equally split between all of the doctors. There is ample opportunity to learn and focus on professional interests. Our weekly doctors meetings also allow for great communication and planning, sharing insights learned from specific cases and getting advice for treatments on patients.

Ideal candidates should enjoy fast-paced environments, high doctor-staff ratio, electronic medical record, team comradery, and seeing a variety of patients. We have small animal appointments, surgery and farm calls every day. All of our doctors treat large and small animals and Dr. DeHaan specializes in exotics including wildlife, primates, avians, reptiles, rodents and pocket pets. There is never a dull moment here!

We offer competitive pay and various employment benefits including paid time off, a generous healthcare stipend, matching IRA and profit sharing. Our hospital also covers continuing education fees, uniform allowance, a fully loaded truck and membership dues.
