Job description

Job Summary: The Janitor 1 position is responsible for keeping the entire facility and grounds clean, sanitary and in compliance with all applicable health and sanitation codes to support the production of great artisan bread and delicious café food. The Janitor 1 position is the first of four Maintenance levels. This position may drive Grand Central Bakery vehicles to various Grand Central Bakery locations if requirements are met.
Compensation: $21.97/hour + Comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule Requirements: Must be able to work, Friday, Saturday and Sundays
Grand Central Bakery operates 7 days a week/365 days a year. Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends is required.

Supervision: This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is accountable to the Janitorial Lead.
Essential job responsibilities:
• Responsible for daily and other assigned cleaning tasks including but not limited to:
o Sweeping
o Mopping
o Dusting and cleaning of vertical surfaces, ducts, and high areas such as tops of coolers and ovens bakery and café equipment
o Emptying all trash and recycling into the appropriate bins.
• Washing, sorting and documenting laundry use at assigned location.
• Providing ongoing or specific project landscaping as directed.
• Provide on-site support for equipment and technical issues as directed including ongoing preventative maintenance, repairs, or installation of on-site equipment.
• Maintenance or installation of on-site equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, mixers, and freezers.
• If qualified and approved to drive, transports equipment, cleaning supplies, and other maintenance employees to and from Grand Central Bakery locations to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks using company vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time. May be required to work a variety of days and shifts to meeting business need including weekends and holidays.
• HS diploma/GED preferred
• Basic math skills required
• In order to drive the following requirements must be met.
o Has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver's license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery.
o Follows policies and procedures in the Driver Safety Manual at all times.
o Must pass a company administered driving test.
• The ability to work independently and efficiently with a high degree of autonomy is required.
• Flexibility and attention to detail to accurately fulfill frequently changing task-lists.
