Job description

Come join the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Composting & Wood Processing, at a large-scale composting facility. In this position you will operate a front-end loader or track loader (Bobcat) to move and manipulate organic materials, attach implements to best handle differing materials, load customers with product using a Bobcat, and perform general site maintenance. Job Overview: Operate front end-loader and skid-loader in a safe and efficient manner.
Schedule Available: Part time: Monday - Friday between 7:00-5:00.
Create Your Path: The Work You'll Do:
  • Operate a front-end loader or skid-loader to move, manipulate and load organic materials
  • Load trucks/ trailers with a skid-loader or front-end loader. Load residential customers with compost/mulch products.
  • General site maintenance, heavy equipment cleaning
  • Performs daily cleaning and inspections, ensuring safety devices are in working order on heavy equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • High school graduate with math proficiency.
  • Ability to proficiently operate front-end loaders and skid-loaders to load material into low-speed grinders, screeners, trucks and trailers within four months of employment.
  • Ability to perform daily safety inspections, routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment within four months of employment. Mechanical background preferred but not required.
  • Valid Class D driver's license required with a good driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software products.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Good customer relation skills and ability to follow directions in a team environment.
