Join the H.A.L.O. Rescue Family โ€“ Now Hiring a Part Time Dog Handler!
Do you have a passion for dogs and a heart for rescue work? H.A.L.O. Rescue is looking for a caring, dependable, and motivated Dog Handler to become part of our team! This is a part-time position scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with shifts running either 7:00 AMโ€“4:00 PM or 8:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM depending on daily operational needs. Occasional flexibility to help cover additional shifts during staff vacations is greatly appreciated.
What Youโ€™ll Do:
Safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities using calm, positive handling techniques.
Provide daily exercise, enrichment, and care while following established routines and safety protocols.
Help potential adopters meet and connect with dogs to support successful adoptions.
Assist with basic medical care, including administering medications and safely restraining animals when needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and supportive environment for both animals and team members.
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
A compassionate team player with strong communication skills and a genuine love for animals.
Someone comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced rescue environment that can occasionally be loud or unpredictable.
Ability to frequently bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Previous dog handling or animal care experience is preferred, but dedication and willingness to learn are highly valued.
Compensation:
Starting pay ranges from $14.50โ€“$16.00 per hour, based on experience.
