Job description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Personal Care Aide (PCA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) looking to make an impact on seniors? Professional Assistance for Seniors (PAS) is expanding our team, and we have part-time positions available in the Rochester, NY area.
This role may be right for you if:
  • You are passionate about helping seniors or differently-abled clients live comfortably in their home for as long as possible.
  • You are reliable and compassionate in caring for others.
  • You thrive in a fun, team-oriented work environment.
  • You have reliable personal transportation and are comfortable driving throughout Monroe County to client homes, including (but not limited to): Gates, Greece, Chili, Brockport, Spencerport, Webster, Penfield, Fairport, Irondequoit, and Hamlin.
  • You have flexibility in your work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a NYS DOH approved Personal Care Aide or Home Health Aide training program as demonstrated by a valid Certificate
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English sufficiently to understand and interpret the HHA Plan of Care, document care provided, and able to call the office staff to report any change and/or issues.
  • Must be reliable and compassionate
  • Must have current driver's license, reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance
  • Experience preferred
  • Successfully complete a DMV check, fingerprinting and pre-employment physical
  • Must be able to travel throughout Monroe County (Gates, Greece, Chili, Brockport, Spencerport, Webster, Penfield, Fairport, Irondequoit, Hamlin)
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and serving normal/therapeutic diets
  • Assisting with bathing, personal care, and dressing
  • Monitoring changes in client's mental and physical conditions
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assist clients with self-administered medications
  • Take, record and monitor temperature, pulse, respiration, intake/output
  • Additional functions permissible under special circumstances
  • Maintain and protect client confidentiality
