Job Description Quality Sensory Panelist - Decatur, ILThis is a part-time, on-site, hourly positionSchedule:Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9AM to Noon (3 hours)Hours per week guaranteed, except cancelation of test day is announced at least one week aheadSummary:This role evaluates the sensory quality of ADM's ingredients and foods objectively using the senses of taste, smell, sight, following specific training guidelines in a consistent manner.Key responsibilities:This position involves periods of time spent sitting to conduct the evaluation while working closely with a team of 8 panelistsEvaluate products by smelling and tasting as a group. Enter scores into a computer or on a paper ballotDiscuss product attributes respectfully within a group settingWork in an environment with little or no knowledge of the products being testedAdhere to training standards to maintain homogeneity, repeatability, acuity percentages above 90%Participate in skill assessment regularly to maintain qualification of this roleBe trained in specific methodology to describe and rate sensory quality of productsContribute to a positive work environmentQualifications:Responsible for adhering to specific sensory guidelinesWillingness to conduct taste and sensory evaluations on the following foods or food ingredients:plant-based proteins, including soy and pea proteinpulse ingredients and edible beanssweetenersflavorsAbility to follow directions, work well in a group and communication opinions effectivelySensory acuity: ability to describe and differentiate between the sensesComfortable using a computerGood communicatorMaintain good punctuality and attendanceADM requires the successful completion of a background check. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
