Job description

Part-time After School Care Director

School Profile
St. Monica Catholic School is a PreK-12 Catholic classical school located on Mercer Island, just east of Seattle, Washington. Our K-12 curriculum model, based on the Educational Plan of St. Jerome, immerses students in the beauty of Western civilization and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Our Early Learning Center hosts a class of students ages 3-4 and another class of students ages 4-5. The Center aims to help students develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually through active play and exploration. We are a parish school and bring students into the sacramental and liturgical life of St. Monica Catholic Church.
Ideal Candidate
St. Monica Catholic School is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) After-School-Care Director for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will possess 2 or more years of experience working with students from Pre-K through 8th grade and have some management or supervisory experience. 




Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise after-school care staff
  • Build positive relationships with families, teachers, and students
  • Manage enrollment of the afterschool care program (runs 3pm-6:00 pm Monday through Friday, Wednesdays 2:00-6:00).
  • Plan activities and programming for after-school care
  • Manage billing for the after-school care program
  • Participate in school-wide recruitment efforts such as open house, marketing, etc.
  • Working hours will typically be from 1:30-6:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as:

  • Functioning in classroom space walking, sitting, standing, reaching
  • Must be able to sit for up to two hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typing
  • Must be able to stand for up to two hours supervising student
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis

Compensation Information:

  • Hourly rate of pay based upon education and experience. Compensation ranges from $25-$35/hour.
  • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
