If you enjoy working with people and creating memorable guest experiences in a dynamic environment, we invite you to join the Union Station Kansas City team for The Berlin Wall: A World Divided.


Exhibit Attendants are a key part of the guest experience for The Berlin Wall: A World Divided. Team members will welcome guests, scan tickets, distribute and collect audio guides, and provide helpful information to ensure visitors have a smooth and engaging experience throughout the exhibition.


This role combines customer service, exhibit operations, and guest engagement in a museum environment. Exhibit Attendants will assist guests with audio guide devices, answer questions about the exhibit and Union Station, monitor guest flow, and help maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere throughout the experience.


This is a temporary, part-time position tied specifically to the exhibit's duration. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the exhibition run, with no guarantee of continued or full-time employment afterward.

Schedule

  • Varying shifts available daily between approximately 9:30 AM โ€“ 6:30 PM
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required based on exhibit needs and special events

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service throughout the exhibit experience.
  • Scan admission tickets and assist with guest entry procedures.
  • Distribute, explain, troubleshoot, and collect audio guide devices.
  • Assist guests with navigating the exhibit and answer general questions about it.
  • Monitor guest flow to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of exhibit spaces and audio guide stations.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and professional ambassador for both the exhibit and Union Station.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Rotate between multiple exhibit positions and responsibilities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned to support daily exhibit operations and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 1โ€“3 years of customer service, hospitality, attractions, museum, or guest-facing experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable learning and using handheld audio guide devices and exhibit systems (training provided).
  • Friendly, dependable, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm and helpful in a fast-paced public environment.
  • Interest in history, museums, education, or immersive experiences is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
  • Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Some light lifting may be required.
  • Frequent interaction with guests, staff, and the general public.
  • Moderate indoor noise and lighting levels are typical of exhibit environments.
