Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seekinga dedicated and enthusiastic candidatefor its Adjunct Instructor - Speech (Part-Time) position in the Arts and Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's Main campus, just South of downtownAtlanta, Ga.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Adjunct Instructor - Speech will bea part-time (adjunct) faculty member that teaches in General Education Communications and Public Speaking courses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential computer and prerequisite skills.This position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students.Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis (up to twenty-nine hours per week).

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited tothe following:

• Follows approved course syllabus.
• Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
• Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
• Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
• Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
• Assists with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
• Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
• Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses.
• Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; and
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

• Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
• Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs
• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
• Oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of student information systems

MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a Master's degree in Communications from a regionally accredited college or university; OR a Master's degree in a related field AND at least eighteen (18) graduate credit hours in Communication from a regionally accredited college or university. Transcripts must be attached to application submission for further consideration.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

• Doctorate degree in Communication from a regionally accredited college or university
• Post-secondary teaching experience within diverse settings and engagement with a wide range of student populations
