Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Test Proctor - Boca Raton, FL.

The Test Proctor supports the administration of academic and professional examinations within the Testing Center. This role ensures a secure, fair, and standardized testing environment by assisting with candidate check-in, monitoring exams, enforcing testing protocols, and maintaining strict confidentiality. The Test Proctor works closely with staff to deliver high-quality testing services while upholding all institutional and regulatory requirements.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff with the academic and professional test registration, administration, and record keeping for paper-based, computer-based, and internet-based exams (university, national, state, local, and Prometric testing).

  • Provide scheduling and check-in support, including verifying identification, collecting biometrics, and capturing photographs of students and candidates as required for exam admission.

  • Escort candidates to designated testing rooms and collect all testing materials upon exam completion.

  • Monitor testing environments to ensure security, including use of security wands and operation of electronic/digital surveillance systems.

  • Support opening and closing procedures, including preparation of testing materials and clean up of testing labs.

  • Report and document any breaches of testing security and uphold confidentiality policies in accordance with federal, state, university, departmental, and testing agency requirements.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all examinations administered and stored within the Testing Center.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week. They provide full-time or part-time employment in an exempt or non-exempt employment situation based on job duties and salary in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Temporary positions do not have layoff rights and may be terminated without prior notice.
