Vehicle Acquisition Specialist Job Description
Reports to: Used Car Manager
Compensation: $17 - 19 / hour
Job Summary
The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist position is responsible for locating, evaluating, and completing the purchase of pre-owned vehicles for resale. The Used Car Manager will provide ongoing professional development and training for this position.
Essential Function
  • Enter all vehicles into KBB and include photos and notes.
  • Understands vehicle condition and the subsequent costs involved in reconditioning.
  • Conducts test drive for any used car prior to buying and evaluates for dents, scratches, damage, mechanical issues, bad Carfax, etc.
  • Tracking data of purchases and understanding which vehicles have the quickest and longest sale turns, highest and lowest gross profit, and overall profitability. This data is key to growing and filling our needs in the used car department.
  • Completing all paperwork necessary to facilitate a purchase.
    • Retrieve payments from Office staff to deliver to customer
  • KBB ICO Leads: Acquisition Specialist will contact all leads in a timely manner via phone, text, and e-mail until customer is reached and communicated with
  • Offer a VIP Vehicle Evaluation while their vehicle is here.
  • Call and confirm each appointment for next day and conduct introduction.
  • Use CRM for equity mining leads and generate proposals to email to customers.
  • Generate "Blind Trades" or "Subject to See" proposals for customers that do not have their vehicle at the dealership
  • Lease turn ins: Explore each grounded lease for the option to buy
  • Social Media: Acquisition Specialist will recruit customers to sale us their vehicles on Facebook Market place, Instagram, You Tube, and other selling platforms for consumers. Local newspaper ads and consumers with sale signs in vehicles should be reached out to.
    • Gathering phone numbers off for sale signs and calling those people
  • Input and manage purchased vehicles in all requisite company software's, including: KBB, VAuto, Reynolds, DealerSocket and Google Docs
  • Communicate as needed with the Business Office, Used Car Manager, and customers
  • Track all purchased vehicle documentation, including titles, payoff checks, etc.
    • Should not give customer check until we have clean title or payoff information in hand with signed Power of Attorney
  • Ability to drive an exceptional Customer experience
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication, prospecting and interspersal skills
  • Maintain customer contact and records within the DealerSocket CRM
  • Stock in purchased vehicles correctly
  • Answer frequently asked questions about the KBB/ICO program
  • Run Vehicle Carfax to ensure not to offer to purchase vehicles with salvage titles and/or branded titles
