TITLE: FOOD SERVICE EMPLOYEE - Part Time (9:00am to 1:00pm - 4 hours per day)
$15/hour
IMRF Eligible
REPORTS TO: Director of Foodservice; Building Principal provides feedback
JOB GOAL: To assist the administration in providing a quality food service program for
the district.
Qualifications:
1. Employee must be able to see and hear; speak, type and write English clearly
2. Competent in basic computer skills
3. Demonstrates aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities
4. Maintains good personal hygiene and grooming
5. Attends a Foodservice Safety and Sanitation Manager's Course within the first year of
employment and passes the test for a sanitation certificate
6. Able to work cooperatively with other production staff.
Physical Requirements:
1. Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling,
reaching, handling, pushing, pulling for extended periods of time
2. Ability to lift pans, filled milk cases, etc. up to 45 lbs. on a regular basis
3. Work may be in hot, cold, and/or damp environments
4. Must be able to remain calm under pressure and adaptable to changing conditions
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Reports to work on time
2. Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance
3. Reads and responds to district/building communications in a timely manner and
within any explicitly defined deadlines.
4. Follows Federal, State and Local Requirements regarding Food Safety procedure
5. Performs tasks necessary to the school breakfast and lunch programs;
including set-up, food preparation, cashiering, serving, dish washing and cleaning and
sanitizing of equipment and facilities
6. Maintains good public relations between the cafeteria, students, parents and
staff by treating customers in a friendly and helpful manner
7. Follows safe and sanitary food handling procedures at all time
8. Understands and accurately uses the Mealtime POS system
9. Counts and allocates all daily receipts, balance meal counts, prepares bank
deposits and other requested reports
10. Assumes responsibility for checking the equipment is safe and in good working
condition and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed
11. Implements the district's Health and Accident/Injury Procedures and Blood borne
Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
12. Supports and implements the district's Risk Management Policy to ensure that
statutory and common law health and safety rights are extended to all visitors, employees,
and students, to provide careful supervision and protection of all district real and personal
property.
13. Participates in in-service training programs as required by the Director of Food
Services or the district administration
14. Performs additional job related duties as assigned by the Director of Foodservice
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Job contingent upon Board approval. Salary and work year determined by Negotiated
Agreement between the RTEA and the Board of Education.
