Salary: $15.00/hrJob Type: Part-Time (On-Call)Department: LibraryLocation: Logan, UtahFLSA Status: Non-exemptAppointed Position: NoJob Number: 26-72Closing Date: September 17, 2026Description:The Logan Library is seeking two new employees to help us spark creation, exploration, and collaboration in our community.Under general supervision, the Library Customer Assistant's primary responsibility will be assisting the public while staffing library service desks.These positions will be scheduled for one four-hour shift per two-week pay period and will be called in for additional shifts as needed, including weekday, weekend, and evening shifts. Additional hours are not guaranteed. For questions about this position, please contact Michael Sauers, Library Director, at michael.sauers@loganutah.gov or 435-716-9130. Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent;The ability to reach, push, pull, squat, and move repetitively to retrieve and shelve items on library shelves (with or without a library cart), walking, standing, or sitting for extended time periods (two to four hours), and carrying a reasonable selection of materials between places where they are stored and places where they are used within library facilities and property. May be required to lift/carry materials up to 50 pounds.Applicants must be available on short notice.Applicants must indicate their understanding of the on-call nature of this position, and include their availability in their submitted cover letter. Those who fail to do so will not be considered.Responsibilities:Library Customer Assistants will:Provide reference and reader's advisor services, and instruct patrons in the use of library resources, including databases, reference materials, catalogs, computers, makerspace equipment, and the interlibrary loan system;Participate in material circulation procedures;Promote library use;Perform other duties as assigned.
