$35.50 - $53.25Major Responsibilities: Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques. 1)Performs computerized post-processing of images using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest under investigation. 2)Addresses minor customer complaints. Tactfully resolves complaints; refers difficult complaints or sensitive issues to higher authority. Coordinates the scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel. Performs Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance. 1)Maintains equipment safety by performing daily Tube Warm Up and Calibrations on CT scanners. 2)Communicates equipment issues or concerns to appropriate personnel and/or ILinqs issues directly to GE service. 3)Maintains appropriate cleanliness of diagnostic and support equipment. Obtains patient history and other relevant clinical information; documents all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist. 1)Responsible for charging of patient examinations, and preparing images and clinical information for interpretation by a radiologist. Starts IVs using appropriate technique, prepares and administers contrast material, and monitors patient condition during the CT procedure. 1)Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies. 2)Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition; this is to include Code Blue, Respiratory Distress, etc.Education/Experience Required:- 12-24 months experience in radiology - Graduate of Radiologic Technology program -2 hours of stroke education/year Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:- Knowledge and understanding of cross sectional anatomy and CT procedures - Able to perform all routine CT procedures - Good oral & written communication skills - Computer competent - ARRT Registry (RT) - IDNS License - CPR - IV Certification within 3 months of date of hire CT Registration within 1 year of date of hire Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - Able to respond to request to work on short notice - Flexible in starting times to meet demand - As required, must be able to transport, move, and lift patients - May require rotating shifts and alternate days - Exposed to infectious diseases - Must take call - Willing to work overtime when requested - Musculoskeletal hazard from large amount of job lifting - Musculoskeletal hazard from repetitive motions If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Addendum: -8 hours of stroke education/year - Attends educational seminars - Attend annual inservices on fire safety, infection control, and radiation protection - Member of professional organization to keep abreast of new developments - Requires above average organization and planning skills; must multi-task - Requires excellent human relation skills on both a clinical and non-clinical basis - Requires a thorough understanding of confidentiality issues - Works under frequent stress - Must function under established guidelines of policies and procedures manual, and physician and department standards - Enrolls in Training & Development Programs offered by Advocate appropriate to level of responsibility This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
