What is a part time 3D post processing radiology?

A Part Time 3D Post Processing Radiology job involves working with medical imaging data, such as CT or MRI scans, to create 3D visualizations that help radiologists and physicians diagnose and treat patients. Professionals in this role use specialized software to reconstruct and manipulate images, highlight specific anatomical structures, and prepare images for review. The position is part-time, meaning it typically requires fewer hours per week than a full-time role, offering flexibility for those balancing other commitments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time 3D post processing radiology specialist?

To thrive in Part Time 3D Post Processing Radiology, you need a solid background in radiologic imaging, anatomy, and image post-processing, typically supported by a degree in radiologic technology or a related field. Proficiency with advanced imaging software such as GE AW, Siemens Syngo, or Philips IntelliSpace, as well as PACS systems, is essential, and certifications like ARRT can be advantageous. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are key soft skills for success in this role. These abilities ensure accurate 3D image reconstruction, effective collaboration with radiologists, and high-quality patient care.

What are some common challenges faced in a part time 3D post processing radiology position, and how can they be managed?

In a part-time 3D post-processing radiology role, one common challenge is managing complex imaging cases within a limited number of hours, which requires strong time management and prioritization skills. Additionally, keeping up with frequent software updates and evolving imaging protocols can be demanding, especially when not working full-time. Collaborating effectively with radiologists and referring physicians is essential to ensure accurate and timely results, and it's important to maintain open communication to clarify clinical questions. Continuous learning and regular participation in team meetings, even as a part-time employee, can help you stay current and maintain high-quality work.

With a 225 year legacy and a fast moving digital first newsroom, the Post operates across print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce, and continues to define the city's most talked about stories.

The New York Post is seeking a tough, experienced and sharp-eyed journalist with exceptional news judgment to join the team as a part-time Assistant News Editor.

This position will involve vetting, assigning and editing news stories of national interest - whether they involve politics, crime, deep investigations or any other major issue in the news cycle. You will work hand in hand with our national editor and our crack team of reporters.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering timely stories while adhering to the highest journalistic standards of sourcing and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a major metropolitan or national newsroom.

  • Experience leading a team of at least five reporters in a newsroom environment

  • A sharp eye for picking out that one detail that makes a Post story a Post story that other outlets may miss

  • Strong news judgement and editing chops

  • A voracious consumer of news in all areas

  • Experience editing multiple stories a day and turning them around quickly for both print and digital audiences

  • A fiercely competitive spirit

  • Flexibility in working weekend or later night shifts

  • Understanding of SEO, social media and video best practices and how to utilize those resources to optimize content and reach a wide audience a plus

  • Experience working in print production a plus

Note: This position will be required to come on-site at least three days a week to our Midtown newsroom.

Please note that this is an engagement facilitated through a third-party vendor. While the role supports The New York Post, employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor.
