Summary Primary responsibility is mowing park facilities, secondary is general maintenance at all park facilities throughout the city. Also, ensure proper operation and safe utilization of the city's park and public grounds. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Mowing Maintaining the mower by greasing, washing and other general maintenance.

Maintain landscape areas in the downtown area, parks and along some roadways. Water trees, shrubs or plants and hanging flower baskets. Mulching, trimming small shrubs/trees in landscape areas, pull weeds, and pick-up garbage.

Other jobs could include painting park building, benches, signs, removal of graffiti, cleaning of parkshelters and buildings. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years or older and have one year of related work experience. Must possess, and maintain, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Desirable Qualifications Fluency in a second language, in addition to English, that has a recognized presence in the community (Spanish, Russian, Hmong, etc.) Additional Information Basic knowledge of hand tools Ability to work in a group or independently Ability to do physical work and lifting Ability to safely and effectively operate a wide range of vehicles, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance tasks. Ability to communicate ideas and explanations clearly in English. Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with co-workers and supervisors
