ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE


PART-TIME GATE ATTENDANT

DEPARTMENT:                          Elkhart County Parks & Recreation  

HIRING RATE:                           $16.75/hour

BENEFITS OFFERED:              No benefits offered

POSITION TO BE FILLED:        ASAP

                    
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:    Hours/Days may vary; emphasis on weekends and evenings, though other times may be available. Approximately 18 hours a week.


LOCATION OF POSITION:       Primarily Ox Bow County Park; other parks as needed      

              
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:      Between Parks (please complete driving page on application)


JOB SUMMARY:
Collect entrance and other special fees, assist visitors with park and department information, perform basic data collection and entry services. Minimal custodial duties within the gatehouse. Receive and communicate relevant information to Ranger and Maintenance staff as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    High school diploma or GED and minimum 21 years of age
    Valid driver's license
    Ability to work independently and make decisions based on policy and prior information, knowledge, or instruction
    Ability to work and communicate professionally and clearly with the public and as a team with other staff through verbal and written means
    Cash handling skills and Point-of-Sale system operation
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel)
    Pre-employment background check and drug screen
