Job description

NOW Courier is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Independent Contractor to service a distribution delivery route based in the Indianapolis area with deliveries throughout Anderson and surrounding communities. This is a consistent, Monday through Friday opportunity requiring a cargo van at minimum due to route volume, which may include up to 100 parcels.

Your Mission
  • Deliver with Clockwork Precision: Ensure cargo is picked up and delivered to our valued customers on time, maintaining NOW Courier's reputation for reliability and punctuality.
  • Route Mastery: Utilize GPS or mapping software to efficiently navigate a high-mileage delivery route and complete deliveries on schedule.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Greet customers with professionalism and warmth while representing your independent business.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Think quickly and adapt to traffic, delivery changes, and other challenges throughout the route.
  • Handle Route Volume: Safely organize, load, transport, and deliver a potentially high volume of parcels each day.
Route Details & Schedule (Indianapolis / Anderson Area)
  • Compensation: Per-piece compensation with average weekly earnings of approximately $1,700.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday.
  • Start Time: 6:00 AM.
  • End Time: Last delivery by approximately 5:00 PM.
  • Required Vehicle: Cargo van at minimum.
  • Route Mileage: Approximately 1,200–1,600 miles per week.
  • Daily Stops: Approximately 40–80.
  • Parcel Volume: Route may include up to approximately 100 parcels.
  • Geographical Area: Anderson, Alexandria, Elwood, Frankton, Lapel, Pendleton, Summitville, and Daleville.
  • Sorting: Distribution responsibilities are required.

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a cargo van or larger vehicle capable of accommodating the route's delivery volume.
  • The vehicle must be 2014 model year or newer.

To maintain our industry-leading fleet of professional drivers, you must meet the following:

  • Age: Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Vehicle: Own a vehicle that can pass a multi-point inspection and is suitable for delivery.
  • Smartphone: Possess a smartphone capable of running our driver app.
  • Licensing & Insurance: Hold a valid driver's license and commercial insurance coverage with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit liability.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: Successfully complete our pre-employment process, including:

    • Substance Abuse (Drug) Screening
