The Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, Clinical Manager of Emergency Department, and physician(s). The Paramedic assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida. Education

Required:High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State ofFlorida.

Experience

Preferred:One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.

Certifications

Required:

  • State of Florida Paramedic License
  • BLS and ACLS certification through approved American Heart Association program
  • CPI within three (3) months of hire into position.
  • Others:Complete blood draw competency within three (3) months of hire into position. Complete EKG competency within three (3) months of hire into the position.
