Your role as a EMT - Any Level (Basic, Advanced, Intermediate, Paramedic)
As a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Southwest Health System, Inc. in Cortez, Colorado, you will play a crucial role in providing essential emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. To excel as a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Southwest Health System, Inc. in Cortez, Colorado, candidates must possess a robust set of skills and certifications.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Regulatory/Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification within state of Colorado.
• Current BLS certification.
• Must obtain certifications in IS-100.b or IS-100.HCb (Introduction to the Incident Command System)
  IS-200.b or IS-200.HCa (Applying Incident Command System (ICS) to Healthcare Organizations)
  IS-700.a (National Incident Management System)
  IS-800.b (National Response Framework an Introduction).
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) within six months of employment.
• PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) and EPC (Emergency Pediatric Care) certification is preferred but not required.
• Haz-Mat Awareness is preferred but not required.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license with continued clear driving record required.

Language Skills:

• Able to communicate effectively in English
• both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
