Paramedics are highly trained healthcare professionals who provide emergency medical care to people who are ill or injured, often at the scene of accidents or medical emergencies. They are typically the first responders and are skilled in assessing patients, performing lifesaving interventions, and transporting patients safely to medical facilities. Paramedics work in ambulances or other emergency response vehicles and may also respond to calls in public places, homes, or workplaces. Their training includes advanced life support, such as administering medications, intubation, and defibrillation. Paramedics play a vital role in the healthcare system by delivering critical care before patients reach the hospital.

Competence in using medical equipment such as defibrillators, ECG monitors, and ambulance dispatch systems is required, along with certifications like ACLS and PALS. Strong decision-making, emotional resilience, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for managing high-stress situations and interacting with patients and colleagues.
