Competitive Pay Based on Experience and Credentials

The Paramedic role is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives. The EMT-P lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, EMT-P provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The EMT-P delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.

Duties & Responsibilities: โ€ข Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. โ€ข Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues. โ€ข Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians. โ€ข Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols. โ€ข Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews. โ€ข Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes โ€ข Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift. โ€ข Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines. โ€ข Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. โ€ข Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet โ€ข Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company. โ€ข Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date. โ€ข Performing other related duties as required by management.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills: โ€ข Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification โ€ข Current CPR, Healthcare Provider Issue โ€ข Current ACLS Certification โ€ข Current PALS/PEPP Certification โ€ข Current EVOC Certification โ€ข BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS preferred โ€ข Valid Driver's License with no negative point โ€ข Pass a criminal background check โ€ข FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800c โ€ข HAZMAT
