Job description

TITLE: BI ETL Developer III (Multiple Openings)
LOCATION: Stamford, CT
JOB SUMMARY: Support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting projects for Charter’s Cable, Mobile, and Streaming customer service. Serve as a technical Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) lead on medium size reporting projects and contribute to large-scale, complex projects. Translate complex business processes to implement technical solutions of a cross-functional nature that drive innovative reporting products. Provide data model design for the development of cost-effective BI solutions in a large-scale cloud data warehouse environment. Communicate effectively with horizontal teams including Shared Services, Architecture, Production Operations and vertical partners to achieve business objectives. Participate in workstream/project planning to accurately project scope and complexity and provide reliable estimates for level of effort including work from external stakeholders and horizontal teams. Participate in peer review of new and updated procedures and conduct independent testing and resolution. Ensure the durability, reliability and accuracy of reporting products. Utilize SQL for declarative/procedural queries and data design language in a large-scale warehouse environment with a self-service MicroStrategy platform. Support all development standards, ensuring business continuity through high quality, durable code with minimal technical debt and excellent maintainability. Ensure processes and data models are consistent with Data Governance standards. Perform data conversions, imports and exports of data within and between internal and external software, from a wide variety of disparate source platforms. Normalize data into cohesive and effective models that embody high levels of sophistication, curation, and standardization. Troubleshoot and triage BI tools, systems, and software issues in the production environment. Support escalated data integrity issues and recommend remediation solutions. Develop thorough and thoughtful documentation for all technical aspects of reports, procedures, data models and design elements included in reporting solutions. Perform SQL query design in large-scale data warehouse environments; and ETL design for implementing data ingestion, translation and normalization. Design data models for reporting. Deliver reporting solutions in an IT and Business Intelligence (BI) environment. Utilize massively parallel databases including Teradata, Exadata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
EDUCATION/
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in: SQL query design in large-scale data warehouse environments; ETL design for implementing data ingestion, translation and normalization; designing data models for reporting; and delivering reporting solutions in an IT or Business Intelligence (BI) environment. 2 years of experience in massively parallel databases including at least one of the following: Teradata, Exadata, Snowflake, or Redshift.

OR

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 7 years of experience in: SQL query design in large-scale data warehouse environments; ETL design for implementing data ingestion, translation and normalization; designing data models for reporting; and delivering reporting solutions in an IT or Business Intelligence (BI) environment. 2 years of experience in massively parallel databases including at least one of the following: Teradata, Exadata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
