Job Title: QA Automation Engineer – Playwright

Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire (CTH)

Location: New Jersey NJ

Possibility of full-time conversion based on performance.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in Playwright to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for modern web applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in end-to-end (E2E) testing, API testing, and test automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript. This role requires close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks using the Page Object Model (POM).
  • Perform End-to-End (E2E), UI, regression, smoke, and cross-browser testing.
  • Automate testing across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit browsers.
  • Develop and execute API tests using Playwright APIRequestContext or Postman.
  • Create data-driven and reusable automation frameworks.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
  • Generate and maintain test reports using Playwright HTML Reports and Allure.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Track defects and test progress using Jira.
  • Maintain source code using Git and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of QA Automation experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Node.js and npm.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
  • Experience implementing the Page Object Model (POM).
  • Knowledge of REST API testing.
  • Experience with Git and version control.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
