Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Paragon Behavioral Health Center as a full-time Mental Health Counselor, where you will provide essential support and therapeutic interventions to individuals facing various mental health challenges. Work Environment

This full-time role is primarily remote, providing flexibility while ensuring that you remain an integral part of our outpatient office environment. You will collaborate with a team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to deliver coordinated care that addresses the diverse needs of our patients. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to gauge patient needs and construct specific treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, during individual and group sessions.
• Facilitate psychoeducational support groups focused on common mental health challenges to foster community and shared experiences among participants.
• Collaboratively engage with other healthcare professionals to formulate comprehensive treatment strategies that encompass all dimensions of a patient’s care.
• Provide critical crisis intervention services to support patients during urgent mental health emergencies, ensuring safety and stabilization.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment alternatives, and available community resources to enhance their support systems.
• Maintain meticulous records and documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards for patient confidentiality and care delivery.
• Participate in case consultations and contribute actively to team meetings, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous learning.
• Stay informed of the latest research and developments in mental health practices to ensure the utilization of cutting-edge therapeutic methods.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse client population, ranging from adolescents to older adults, each encountering unique challenges that require tailored therapeutic approaches. You will engage with clients dealing with various mental health conditions, fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes their emotional well-being and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders and the application of evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments and creating effective treatment plans.
• Proficiency in delivering individual and group therapy sessions to a variety of patient demographics.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate meaningful connections with clients.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate sound clinical judgment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document care efficiently.
• Collaborative mindset, willing to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an outpatient setting, directly working with patients experiencing similar mental health conditions.
• Demonstrated success in facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions within a diverse patient population.
• Knowledge of community resources and support systems available to patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits
