Job description

TITLE: Assistant - Paper Packaging
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The machine assistant will be responsible for keeping the machines supplied with paper, ink, glue, and cartons while learning the mechanics of the flexographic and converting machines.
  • All new machinery. Clean work environment. Air conditioning.
  • First and second shift hours - Monday - Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous machine operating and packaging experience preferred.
  • Experience with large rolls of paper or plastic.
  • Knowledge and use of various hand tools assigned including tape measure, screwdriver, wrenches, etc.
  • Good verbal and written skills required.
  • Basic Math required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment on production lines.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Change paper rolls and printing plates.
  • Monitor and keep machine supplied with paper, glue, and ink.
  • Pack paper bags as necessary.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
  • Fast-paced production floor with exposure to machinery noise.

TRAINING:
  • Must complete ongoing training as required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis
